Happy New Month & Happy Workers' Day

You're going to get knocked down more times than you care for. People will tell you that you can't succeed, that you can't do it. They will say you're not good enough, not strong enough, that you don't have what it takes. They will laugh at you, make fun of you, talk behind your back. Your seeming failure will make them feel good. They want you down so that they can keep stepping on you. As far as they are concerned, your life is not going anywhere. But you have to understand one thing, they are not your God. They don't know you like that. They don't know what drives you, what motivates you, what shines inside of you. They don't know your strength, your will or your power.

They forget that you are one thing and one thing only. You are a divine being, specially created. You are a deity in jeans and t-shirt. You are magnificent, you are brilliant and there's absolutely nothing you can't do if you set your mind to it. They can't tell you what you can or can't do, what you can or can't be! You have a strength inside of you that even you are not aware of. You are stronger than you think, braver than you believe. There's a god in you. Whenever you are in doubt, look inside of you, there's a source of strength deep inside that will always spring up when you look. Go out and achieve, not because you want to shut people up but because your dreams are worth it. You are worth it!

Happy New Month people..and Happy Workers Day!
Kisses

Nigerians are world’s heaviest users of ATMs - Report

According to a recently released study by EY, a global business and financial advisory firm, Nigerian bank customers have been rated the heaviest users of Automated Teller Machines in the world. The study also rated Nigeria as one of the top three countries whose bank customers use social media when making decisions on selecting a financial service provider. The study also shows that Nigerian bank customers have the highest banking sensitivity and are the second highest globally to close accounts based on poor experience.

EY’s Advisory Banking Sector Leader for Africa, Mr. Colin Daley said in a statement that they came to the conclusion after sampling 32,000 bank customers in 43 countries including Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
"Nigerian bank customers have the highest level of trust for primary financial service providers in Africa and second globally behind India. Twenty-four per cent of Nigerian customers have experienced a problem with their banks that required resolution. Seventy-two per cent of customers were either very satisfied or satisfied with the response that they received. However, 28 per cent were less than satisfied

Nigerian doctor found guilty of assaulting patient has been acquitted

The Nigerian doctor, Abiodun Bale, who was charged and found guilty of attacking a female patient in his surgery when she disagreed with his diagnosis (read here) has been acquitted.

Lancashire Telegraph reports that Dr Bale appealed against his conviction last December and won.
Dr Bale agreed there was a dispute but did not agree he had touched the female patient. He claimed that during a ‘breakdown’ between himself and the patient, she was dissatisfied with the treatment & advice and decided to make a false claim about assault.
The doctor had told the court he had just wanted to explain to her that he didn’t want her to leave and was trying to do his best for her.
A judge allowed the appeal, although the judge said they didn’t believe he had told the truth. The GP had earlier been given a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £1,015 costs by the lower court. He now has no criminal convictions.

14yr old girl kills another 14yr old girl after Facebook fight over a boy

14 year old Endia Martin (pictured above) was killed on Monday April 28th by another 14 year old girl after they argued on Facebook about a boy. Is this what 14 year olds should be doing? Fighting over boys and killing each other? My goodness!

According to Chicago Times, the handgun used to kill Endia Martin had been brought to the scene by someone who knew the suspect and knew 'there was going to be a fight' Chicago police said
"What would have been, under any other circumstance, probably a fistfight between 14-year-old girls, because they were fighting over a boy, turned into a murder. You introduce a firearm and you have a murder." The police said
Endia was walking home from school when the other girl approached, pulled the gun and opened fire around 4:30 p.m on Monday in West Garfield Boulevard, Chicago, according to police. Endia was hit in the back and killed instantly.

The 14 year old girl has been charged as a juvenile with murder, while her 24-year-old uncle and a 17-year-old boy are also facing charges. The two are being held for giving the gun to the killer.

P-Square's publicist releases statement, says he never said it was all a publicity stunt

Yesterday P-Square's publicity Bayo Adetu was quoted as saying the fight between the brothers was all a publicity stunt, and that they all decided to play along. Well, after the backlash from fans, Mr Adetu has backtracked and claims he never made those comments. A statement he released below.
My attention has been drawn to one magazine interview quoting me that the purported P-Square break-up tale was a ‘publicity stunt.’ It was indeed a misconception on the part of the writer. I never said the rumour was a ‘publicity stunt.’
There is no way I could have granted an official interview and speak in such denigrating manner as being portrayed by the magazine in question.
I can remember talking to Star FM and NTA2, and it is on record that I never spoke in such unprofessional manner! Most importantly, I never said it was a ‘publicity stunt’ because that amounts to toying with the emotions of P-Square fans. I cherish the fans more than Diamond and therefore, I will never disrespect or toy with their emotions. Thanks for your understanding.

Chibok schoolgirls 'alive' & deal is 'within reach' - hostage negotiator claims

Found this report a foreign site, Channel4.com. Read below..
A hostage negotiator in direct contact with the kidnappers of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria tells Channel 4 News their safe release is "within reach", but that their fate rests on a knife-edge.
The girls, we believe, are alive but they have been moved from the location to which they were originally taken," the intermediary told Channel 4 News. "It would not be hard to engineer a deal. It looks like they want to release them."
The kidnappers have warned, however, that attempts by the military to launch a rescue attempt "may result in the deaths of many of the captives".

INTRODUCTION TO WEB DESIGN

Tools and technologies

Web designers use a variety of different tools depending on what part of the production process they are involved in. These tools are updated over time by newer standards and software but the principles behind them remain the same. Web graphic designers use vector and raster graphics packages for creating web formatted imagery or design prototypes. Technologies used for creating websites include standardised mark-up, which could be hand-coded or generated by WYSIWYG editing software. There is also proprietary software based on plug-ins that bypasses the client’s browsers versions. These are often WYSIWYG but with the option of using the software’s scripting language. Search engine optimisation tools may be used to check search engine ranking and suggest improvements.
Other tools web designers might use include mark up validators and other testing tools for usability and accessibility to ensure their web sites meet web accessibility guidelines.

INTRODUCTION TO WEB DESIGN

Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization. Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all. The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines
